01 Who We Are
1001500932 Ontario Inc., carrying on business as Aegis Algo ("Aegis", "we", "us"), is an Ontario corporation and is the organization responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and what you can do about it. It applies to this website and to purchases of our software.
02 The Short Version
This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, has no tracking pixels, and has no forms. Simply browsing this site does not create an account or a customer record with us.
We only receive personal information when you buy something — and even then, your payment card details go directly to Stripe and are never seen or stored by us.
03 What We Collect
When you browse
Nothing that identifies you is collected by us. Our web host records standard server logs (including IP address and browser type) for security and reliability, as any web server does.
When you buy
Checkout is handled by Stripe. Stripe passes us the information needed to fulfil and account for your order:
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Name | Identify the licence holder; issue the receipt |
| Email address | Deliver the software; send licence and support correspondence |
| Billing address / country | Fraud checks, tax determination, accounting records |
| Purchase record (amount, currency, date, product, last 4 digits and card brand) | Order fulfilment, bookkeeping, dispute handling, statutory record-keeping |
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to put in the message, and we keep that correspondence so we can help you.
04 What We Never Collect
- Full payment card numbers, expiry dates or security codes. These are entered on Stripe's own hosted checkout and never reach our servers.
- Your brokerage or trading account credentials. We never ask for them. Nobody from Aegis will ever request your broker login, API keys, or account password — treat any such request as fraudulent.
- Your trading positions, balances or results. The software runs entirely on your own machine and does not report anything back to us.
- Special-category data such as health, biometric, racial or political information.
05 Why We Use It
We use personal information only to:
- Deliver the software you purchased and provide the licence;
- Respond to your support enquiries;
- Detect, prevent and investigate fraud, abuse and licence violations;
- Keep accounting and tax records required by Canadian law;
- Handle payment disputes and chargebacks;
- Send you essential transactional messages about your purchase.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not use it for behavioural advertising.
Where the UK or EU General Data Protection Regulation applies to you, our legal bases are: performance of a contract (delivering your purchase and support), legal obligation (tax and accounting records), and legitimate interests (fraud prevention, protecting our intellectual property, and defending disputes).
06 Who We Share It With
We share personal information only with the service providers needed to run the business, and only as far as needed:
| Recipient | Role | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe, Inc. | Payment processing, fraud screening, receipts. Stripe is an independent controller of the payment data it collects and applies its own privacy policy. | United States / global |
| Our email provider | Delivering software files and support correspondence | Canada / United States |
| Our web host | Serving this website; standard server logs | United States / global |
| Accountants and professional advisers | Bookkeeping, tax filing, legal advice, under confidentiality | Canada |
We may also disclose information where required by law, court order, or a lawful request from a public authority, or to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
07 Cookies & Tracking
This website sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics or advertising trackers.
Two third-party resources are loaded to render the page, and because your browser requests them directly, those providers will see your IP address and browser details:
- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com) — typefaces;
- jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net) — the 3D graphics library used for the background animation.
Neither is used by us to identify or profile you. When you proceed to checkout you leave this site for Stripe's own hosted page, where Stripe's cookies and privacy policy apply.
08 How Long We Keep It
- Purchase and accounting records — at least six years after the end of the relevant tax year, as required by the Canada Revenue Agency.
- Licence records — for the life of the licence, so we can verify entitlement and re-issue files.
- Support correspondence — up to three years after the matter is closed.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it or render it anonymous.
09 Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct it if it is inaccurate or incomplete;
- Delete it, where we are not required to keep it for tax, accounting or legal-claim purposes;
- Restrict or object to certain processing;
- Receive a portable copy in a machine-readable format;
- Withdraw consent, where processing is based on consent.
Email support@aegis-algo.com and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first. Exercising these rights is free and will never be held against you.
Deleting your record does not entitle you to a refund, and does not extend your licence. We must retain proof-of-purchase records for the statutory period even after a deletion request.
10 International Transfers
We are based in Canada, and our service providers — including Stripe — process data in the United States and other countries. This means your personal information may be stored or processed outside your country of residence, and may be accessible to courts, law enforcement and national security authorities there under local law.
Where the UK or EU GDPR applies, transfers are made under appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by our processors, or on the basis that the transfer is necessary to perform our contract with you.
11 Security
We use reasonable physical, organizational and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access limited to those who need it, and reliance on PCI-DSS compliant payment infrastructure so that card data never touches our systems.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information and creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required by law.
12 Children
Our products are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
13 Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The revised version will be posted here with a new effective date. Material changes affecting how we use your information will be communicated by email to customers where practicable.
